Casa del Moral Calle Moral 318.
Visiting hours Mon-Sat 9am-5pm (holidays until 1pm)
One of the finest and best-preserved
samples of baroque-mestizo civil architecture in Peru,
the Moral house was built in 1733 by a Spanish noble.
A sumptuous stone portal with heraldic emblems carved
in sillar leads to the main patio, where the ancient
blackberry tree, that gives its name to the house, grows.
The Casa del Moral houses a collection
of oil paintings from the "Escuela Cusqueña"
(School of Cusco), a colonial type art. Its library
contains more than 3,000 volumes, primarily Hispanic
literature. Particularly interesting the collection
of antique maps. The house was restored in recent years.
