Niños hotel is one of the most popular hotels in Cusco. Besides its great value (comfy, clean, inexpensive), the Dutch owner, Jolanda van den Berg, puts all profits into the needs of 500 extremely neglected children from Cusco. The proceeds provide them with a daily hot meal, a warm shower, medical and dental assistance, education, and recreation (not to mention she actually adopted 12 kids). Located next to Cusco's main square, Niños hotel occupies a completely renovated colonial house. The 20 large rooms are simply decorated but comfortable, and surround a nice, sunny courtyard, where breakfast (featuring home-made bread) is served. The huge (and deserved) success of Niños hotel lead the owner to open a second facility nearby, on Fiero street (where the apartments are also located). This being said, it's advisable to book at Niños hotel well in advance. Credit none Rates single $18 double $36 (shared bathroom); double $40 w/bathroom; 3-beds $58 w/bathroom. All rates include breakfast. Apartments also available, at $10 per person per day. Go back to budget hotels in Cusco. |
