El Balcon

Perched on a hill some 3-blocks from the main square, El Balcón ("The Balcony") offers some great panoramic views of the city. The hostel is build on a 2-floor restored pre-colonial house, entirely wood, adobe, and stone.

All rooms are soberly decorated: wooden floors and white walls. The ones on the first floor surround a lovely garden with stone path and colourful flowers, while those on the second -which hold all the best views- are distributed over an open-roof wooden corridor.

The atmosphere is most familiar, the staff helpful and enjoyable, and hot water never runs out. There is a good cafeteria and a sauna.
