The Garden House Hotel

Urb. Larapa Grande B-9, Cusco
Phone 084-271117
Email gardenhouse@berwickuniversal.com
Rates double $80 ($480/week) suite $140 ($840/week), including breakfast.

Located in Larapa Grande, about 10 minutes from Cusco's city centre, this nice neo-colonial house is built around a large patio and surrounded by a vast private garden and orchard -indeed, one of the largest in Cusco.

The seven double rooms enjoy lovely views and a tranquil environment, as well as the neighbourhood's clean, fresh air.

The Garden House is ideal for those travellers interested in exploring the region's natural and historic attractions -including the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu-, rather than partying until dawn in Cusco's many bars and clubs.

The Inca ruins of Patapata, Rumihuasi and Ccallachaca are within walking distance, while sightseeing, birdwatching, horseback riding, trekking and biking tours can be organised by the hotel.

The hotel includes two sitting rooms with open wood fires, a kitchen, dining room and bar. An elevated library overlooks the patio, with Internet connection and cable television. Other facilities include baby-sitting, laundry service, and luggage storage, while private parking can be found within the grounds.

The entire house can be rented for a weekly rate of $2,540.
