Managed by a Brit-Peruvian couple, Nick and Tania, Sumaq Misky is a bar & restaurant located in Plateros, next to Cusco's main square.

Cuisine is predominantly Andean –both regarding ingredients and recipes– and includes a nice selection of vegetarian dishes. The forte, though, are the Alpaca and Cuy (guinea pig) dishes. Indeed, Nick and Tania spent three years in a small community far up in the mountains learning the nutritional values of both meats. An then, they toured the world in search of more ancient guinea pig recipes!

The resulting menu alternates Andean Classic dishes, such as the picante de cuy (spicy guinea pig cooked in a garlic and chili sauce), with Andean Fusion recipes: alpaca cooked in Indian spices and yoghurt, for example, or crispy guinea pig served with thin pancakes and hoi sin sauce.

The bar serves a large selection of drinks and features 4 separate screens that show pretty much every sport's broadcast: rugby, football, NFL games, baseball, etc. Free wi-fi Internet is offered.
