Tejas:
A teja is a traditional dessert native to the southern
Ica department. Similar in shape and size to a shallot,
tejas are made with dried lemons, figs, or pecans, filled
with manjar blanco, and covered with sugar icing. Chocotejas
are a delicious variation, chocolate instead of the
sugar cover.
