Miraflores,
Barranco & Co.
Criollo
Restaurant Huaca Pucllana, in Miraflores, enjoys
one of the most unique settings in town: within the
ruins of an archaeological compound built the early
inhabitants of Lima. Breathtaking views, excellent wine
and pisco list, great cuisine.
Built in 1927 and completely refurbished
by 1998, hacienda-style Country
Club Lima is probably the most unique and lovely
deluxe hotel in town.
Few other Peruvian writers protrayed
Lima's society (and particularly Miraflores' middle-class)
as master
storyteller Julio Ramón Ribeyro. A disenchanted,
melancholic voice sparkled with pungent humour.
Fresh and tasty, Ceviche is Peru's
flag dish. Check Lima's
best Cevicherias (Peruvian seafood restaurants)
an indulge yourself with the fabulous fruits of the
Pacific Ocean.
Upbeat Afro Peruvian music, rich criollo
fare, and lots of fun. Add generous quantities of beer
and you'll have the essence of a Peña,
cheerful music clubs with a long lasting tradition in
Peru's capital.
Second
Home Peru guesthouse occupies a magnificent Tudor
mansion in Barranco, and features a beautiful view of
the coastline and the Pacific Ocean. Once home to renowned
Peruvian sculptor Víctor Delfín, huge
sculptures rise amidst the garden's many trees and plants.
