An honest, down-to-earth bar with more than 60 years in the midst of Barranco's nightlife, Juanitos' look has probably remained intact since its opening. Founded by Juan Casusol Villacorta and run by himself until he sadly passed away in January 2010, at age 97, the place has been –and still is– one of Barranco’s legendary spots. Now managed by Casusol’s family, Juanito is a great place for a midday cured-ham sandwich with onions and chilli, or for some late-evening pitchers of beer among friends. The bar has long been frequented by the local bohemia, and it's not infrequent for writer and poets to search for inspiration at Juanitos tables, taking chaotic notes on wrecked notebooks and paper napkins. Open Mon-Sat 11am-3am and Sun 11am-1am Credit none Go back to Bars & Pubs. |
