La Tiendecita Blanca (The Little White Store) is a traditional, old-style café-restaurant with a reputation for excellence that stretches over half a century. The international cuisine offers such mouth-watering dishes as liver sauté with onions and smashed potatoes, lamb ribs with risotto, or the timeless pepper steak. The forte of the house, however, are the Swiss specialities, undoubtedly the best in town: meat or cheese fondue, veal emincé, and potato rosti (Bern-style fried potatoes). Located in the heart of Miraflores, one-block away from Kennedy Park, it is frequented by a quiet, mature clientele of both tourists and locals (among which many Italian, Swiss, and German immigrants). The décor is stylish and elegant, featuring leather furniture, enamel doors and photographs that depict Lima during the 50s and 60s. Their superb pastries and cakes have surely contributed into making La Tiendecita Blanca a classic for business breakfasts. A great wine list and the friendly staff complete the enticing picture.
