Crisol, probably the biggest bookshop in town, occupies a modern glass and steel building in one of the main squares in Miraflores. With a wide offer, it is a particularly good source of local fiction and photographic coffee-table books about Peru.

Also a music store, they have a nice selection of Peruvian and South American CDs. Puppets, book reading, and other events for children every Sunday, at noon. Crisol has a second branch in the Jockey Plaza mall (La Plazuela, phone 436-0004, open daily from 10am to midnight).
