One of the best shopping spots in town, Dédalo occupies a labyrinthian mansion in a quiet corner of Barranco. As you wander around the never-ending rooms, you will be struck by the beauty and uniqueness of the objects displayed: home accessories, toys, decorative arts, clothing, jewelry, ceramics, and a long etcetera.

No surprise, as most pieces are designed and crafted by artists and artisans. The rooms are organized by type of object, though some host temporary expositions by local artists.

Dédalo was conceived in the early 90s by María Elena Fernández as a colourful alternative to mass-produced items, which at the time where being heavily imported by department stores, leaving limeños with few alternatives. Prices are a little expensive for Peruvian standards, though not for the outstanding products.

A fun and extraordinary shopping experience.
