Adventure Sports in Peru |
||||||||
Adventure Sports and Travel for Everyone Peru is an inimitable paradise for adventure sports. The Andes mountains offer unique opportunities for trekking, mountain biking, and rock climbing, while the raging rivers that rise in the highest mountains and rush down through sheer and deep canyons -some twice as deeper as the Grand Canyon- are a dream for river-runners, both experienced and novice. Moreover, the rich waters of the Pacific ocean not only are great for sports fishing, underwater fishing and scuba diving, but feature some of the best surfing points in the world. Before you keep reading, though, please bear in mind that if you are planning some adventurous trip to Peru, you should purchase a travel insurance. Adventure-lovers will find the Andes to be ideal for trekking, camping and mountain-climbing. The highlands are riddled with more than 15,000 lakes, snow-capped peaks soaring over 6,000 meters, the world's deepest canyons, bucolic valleys and picturesque villages.
The entire Andean chain offers unparalleled opportunities for whitewater rafting, superb trails for mountain biking and gusting winds for fans of hang-gliding and paragliding. If you plan on doing some adventure sports during your trip to Peru, consider the advantages of group travel. Many great adventurous experiences -like trekking in the Cordillera Huayhuash or whitewater rafting- are unfeasible without group travel, both for safety reasons and economic costs. And please, please, do take out a travel insurance. Photo Credits Photo at top of page by Christian Ordenes, displayed under a CC License.
